From the Introduction to the Book:
Network Marketing or Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is commonly touted
as a worthwhile alternative to the "job" for many people.
For some this is true; for most it has not been so.
If you've tried several MLM opportunities, you've probably been
disappointed at your results.
The MLM proponents do a superb job of describing the problems of
depending on a job.
Unfortunately, for various reasons, most MLM plans are not viable
for more than a few.
But, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS!
Assuming that the products are of decent quality and not
outrageously priced, the problem is in the compensation plan
(often erroneously called the "marketing plan").
It's the PAY PLAN, Pardner!™
MLM is a valid and viable concept. But because so many companies
are outright scams, or have lousy compensation plans, most will
fail, and take you down with them.
You need to look carefully to find some that are worthwhile and
deserving of your participation -- of your valuable time and effort.
My recommendation for your Network Marketing success is that you
seek out companies with quality compensation programs and quality
products at reasonable prices.
If a company does not meet ALL the requirements as outlined in
this discussion, you will suffer frustration, undeserved loss
of self-confidence, and serious loss of time and money.
You can't turn a sow's ear into a silk purse; you can't even turn
something "close" into a winner, as I have found through bitter
experience.
"CLOSE, BUT NO CIGAR" DOESN'T COUNT; IT'S ALL OR NOTHING.
How do you weight the various factors and cut through all the
hype and B.S. to come up with a decision as to which MLM opportunity
to join, to make a decision that you can live with and STICK WITH?
(If you keep playing "MLM-of-the-month";
that is, if you're a "MLM junkie",
you're NEVER going to make it.)
We all have heard that there are several factors to evaluate in
choosing a Network Marketing aka Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)
opportunity to participate in.
Company and Executives
Products and Services and Pricing
Compensation (Pay) Plan
Marketing Plan and Support
Nothing is perfect, so the question is how to make -- if not a
PERFECT decision -- a SATISFACTORY decision?

common-sense criteria for you to use in choosing MLM companies
that will give you a good chance at success.
