New MLM Business Opportunity Success | You Need Business Procedures

Most successful businesses use procedures in order to grow, operate efficiently, and thrive.  Is yours?  If you aren't using business procedures, you've got some work to do.

A procedure should always be written down or recorded in some way or another.  It should be on paper, or in a video -- as long as it exists somewhere besides in your head.  It should be a step-by-step guide so that it can be accomplished by anyone -- whether that be an employee or contractor or the future owner of your business.

Many small businesses don't know about procedures.  Is that why so many fail?  So before you think creating them will waste your time, think about how long you'd like your business to last.  As long as you want it to would be nice, wouldn't it?  Anything you do -- from walking across the office in ten steps to the printer, talking with a client, sending a fax or e-amil -- can all be made into procedures.

You will find that following your procedures to the "T" will make your and others' work easier.  You won't accidentally miss that important step if you're following a procedure.  You'll also find that by documenting and following a procedure, you may find some steps might not really be necessary or could be revised for better efficiency.  This can save hours of time otherwise being wasted.

Do yourself a favor and train yourself to spot areas where time is leaking.  If the fax takes too long, maybe a step should require an e-mail instead?  Improving and making modifications to procedures is just as important as having them.  Once they are the structure of your business, changing the procedures is making a change to your business.

Are you using procedures yet?  I hope you see the benefit of this information.  Train your employees to follow procedures and to help you improve them after they've used them.  They may have some of the greatest ideas of all.  Maybe you can design a procedure that enables you to leave your office.
